Gender and Mental Health: Dora’s Case

In this workshop I would like to talk and think together with the participants about how gender and the way we conceive mental health is related to each other. I will ask questions such as why women are overrepresented amongst mental health patients meanwhile men amongst criminals, and how the traditional concept of femininity is correlative with pathologyzing women. I will also talk about the famous patient of Freud and show how we can think of Dora’s Case as Freud’s Case.
