Costume / Underwear Making

A practical session to make yourself some underwear! Bring scissors, pencil, paper, ruler, tape measure and fabric, and we’ll turn them into some pants by the end of the session

We can make underwear to fit any body type ā€“ there will be basic patterns for 3 kinds of pants: trunks, knickers and shorts; and we can adapt them to fit anyone.

1st hour: taking measurements, and drawing up a paper pattern. (this part will be a lot of doing sums and drawing straight lines according to a formula on a handout.)

then 1/2 hour on fabrics – how to work with stretchy fabric, and how to adapt the pattern so it works with the fabric you’ve picked.

then 1/2 hour on cutting out

And hopefully the next hour will be sewing them together, putting edging on, and finishing them.

    • last year tried to find this class will there actually ever be another one)when) and if not at free school do you know of any such class (pretty sick of tugging at badly fitting underwear.REALLY WOULD LIKE TO MAKE MY OWN)

  2. would have loved to attend this,
I am a woman who is tired of the limited choice of underwear out there
(not everyone wants to wear low rise panties even if they have been
    “in fashion”for a while)

and would have attended this if knew the class/workshop existed before today(looks like it is over)

is it possible to connect with the person who ran the class and get information on how to make these

also would this class/workshop be offered again (when and where)
